Serenity Morocco Tours is proud to offer an annual $1,000 scholarship to support students who are passionate about cultural immersion, international education, and cross-cultural understanding—particularly as it relates to Morocco and North Africa.
We believe that cultural exchange and international travel are powerful educational tools that broaden perspectives, develop empathy, and prepare future leaders for our interconnected world.
This scholarship aims to remove financial barriers for students seeking to study abroad, conduct research, or engage in meaningful cultural exchange in Morocco.

Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Interest in cultural studies, anthropology, international relations, language studies, or related fields
Plan to study abroad, conduct research, or engage in cultural immersion activities related to Morocco or North Africa within the next 12 months
Demonstrate financial need
U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Award Disbursement
Payment will be made directly to the winner's educational institution or study abroad program within 30 days of winner announcement.
Additional Benefits
To apply, please submit the following materials through our online application portal:
1. Personal Information Form
Basic contact information, school details, and program information
2. Official Transcript
Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for initial application. Official transcripts required if selected as finalist.
3. Essay (500-1,000 words)
Topic:
"How would cultural immersion in Morocco contribute to your personal growth, academic goals, and future career aspirations? Describe your specific interests in Moroccan or North African culture and how this scholarship would help you pursue those interests."
We're looking for thoughtful responses that demonstrate genuine interest in cultural exchange, specific knowledge about Morocco, and clear plans for how you'll use this educational opportunity.
4. Letter of Recommendation
One letter from an academic advisor, professor, or professional mentor who can speak to your academic achievements, character, and commitment to cultural understanding.
5. Proof of Enrollment
Current class schedule, enrollment verification letter, or acceptance letter to study abroad program.
6. Study Abroad Program Information (if applicable)
Details about your planned Morocco program, including dates, institution, and program description.
Applications will be evaluated based on:
Academic Achievement (25%)
GPA, coursework relevance, academic standing
Essay Quality (35%)
Thoughtfulness, writing quality, specific knowledge of Morocco, clear goals, cultural sensitivity
Recommendation Strength (15%)
Character assessment, leadership potential, commitment to cultural exchange
Financial Need (15%)
Demonstrated financial barriers to international education
Program Quality (10%)
Quality and relevance of planned Morocco experience or research project
Round 1: Initial Screening
All complete applications reviewed for eligibility requirements. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Round 2: Evaluation
A selection committee of Morocco travel experts and educators will review all eligible applications and select finalists.
Round 3: Finalist Selection
Top 5 finalists may be contacted for brief phone or video interviews.
Winner Announcement
Winner announced July 15th via email and on our website. All finalists will be notified of results.

Currently, this scholarship is only available to undergraduate students. We may expand to graduate students in future years.
No. While studying in Morocco is ideal, we also consider students planning independent research, language programs, internships, or cultural immersion experiences related to Morocco or North Africa.
Yes! Previous travel to Morocco is not disqualifying. In fact, it may strengthen your application if you can articulate what you learned and why you want to return for deeper cultural engagement.
All majors are welcome to apply. While preference may be given to students in cultural studies, anthropology, international relations, or language studies, we recognize that cultural immersion benefits students from all academic disciplines.
No age limit. All enrolled undergraduate students are eligible regardless of age.
Yes. Language study is a valuable form of cultural engagement. Just clearly explain in your essay how your language studies relate to your interest in Moroccan culture.
