November occupies a sweet spot in Morocco's calendar. Summer heat is long gone, the autumn tourist wave has subsided, and winter crowds have not yet arrived. The result is pleasant temperatures, shorter queues at monuments, and shoulder-season prices that reward travelers who time their visit well.
The Sahara Desert reaches its absolute peak in November. Daytime temperatures of 18-25°C make every activity — camel treks across Erg Chebbi, 4x4 excursions to remote oases, sunset dune walks — genuinely comfortable. Nights are cool but not yet bitterly cold, and the crystal-clear desert sky delivers some of the most spectacular stargazing anywhere on Earth. If the desert is your priority, November is the month.
Cities remain warm enough for full days of exploration. Marrakech hits 22-24°C, Fes sits around 18-20°C, and even the coast holds at a mild 18-20°C. The olive harvest brings life to the countryside, autumn foliage paints the Atlas valleys in gold and amber, and the Marrakech International Film Festival injects a dose of global culture into an already vibrant city.
Warm and pleasant. Ideal for full days in the medina. Evenings require a light jacket.
Mild with occasional showers. Morning mist over the medina adds atmosphere.
Peak desert season. Warm days, cool nights, crystal visibility. Best month for the Sahara.
Mild and less windy than summer. Surf season building. Pleasant seaside walks.
Rain increasing. The blue streets glisten after showers. Pack waterproof layers.
Autumn colours in valleys. First snow on high peaks. Last window for comfortable trekking.
Warm and mostly dry. Beach days still possible. Reliable sunshine.
November is shoulder season trending upward. Prices sit 5-15% below peak season (March-April and October) but above the deep winter lows of January-February. Desert camps are in high demand — book 4-6 weeks ahead to secure the best options.
